What is Net Neutrality?
“Title II” of the Communications Act is the legal foundation for Net Neutrality, the basic principle that protects our free speech on the Internet. This prevents Internet Service Providers like Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T from throttling and blocking websites, or enacting data discrimination policies such as charging apps, websites, or web services extra fees to reach their audience.
Why is Net Neutrality Important?
Without Net Neutrality, the Internet is staged to become more like Cable TV, where the only content you see is what your provider puts in front of you. New companies and services would struggle to compete with established players who could pay to ensure their content is delivered faster.

To us, Net Neutrality is non-negotiable and we oppose any measure that would allow Internet Service Providers to throttle, limit, censor, or block applications, websites, or services.
Net Neutrality keeps the internet free and open enabling everyone to share and access information of their choosing without interference. The Internet has thrived and become a place of limitless innovation, creativity, free expression, and commerce precisely because of these protections.
Millions of people fought for over a decade to secure lasting Net Neutrality protections. We will not accept anything less and urge you to reject any attacks on Net Neutrality.
Just as we have spoken up in the past about the dangers of repealing consumer internet privacy protections we will continue to do so in all matters regarding a free and open Internet for all.
