The Future of Livestreaming in Sports
Sports anchor and reporter Alexa Ross was our guest at Speedify Live to talk about the NBA Draft night and also more about her career and sports in general.
Alexa shared some great anecdotes about live streaming, trades, players and "what if's". This is a must watch if you're into sports.
Here are our 5 takeaways from our this episode:
- Speedify CEO, Alex Gizis shares the details of the recent Speedify release, 11.4: the app is now better at detecting different types of streams, the iOS app is better at detecting bad Wi-Fi and acting on it faster, and we also improved our Bypass for various services. And, we now supports Android 12 beta!Â
- The Speedify team has also redesigned our Account management portal at my.speedify.com where users can now better manage their subscriptions, team members and dedicated servers!Â
- Alexa says she got into sports reporting because of her passion for Philadelphia sports. She says that Philly fans are different from most other fan bases, as they have a much stronger passion for their teams and favorites.Â
- We learn that while still in college, Alexa took time off to cover the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea! She was a production assistant for the coverage of the ice hockey arena at first, but then took initiative and asked to do more digital content, so she took over the NHL on NBC Instagram account.
- During her time at the Olympics, Alexa was still taking some classes virtually. She would FaceTime a friend to be able to attend classes, and since her internet coverage wasn’t always the best, she did experience a version of Streamergencies herself! If she had Speedify at the time, she would likely not have missed a second of her classes!
