On the 118th episode of Speedify LIVE we are joined by Jesse Korwin from Slip.Stream, the website that provides a massive library of royalty-free and DMCA-free music and sound effects for creators to safely use!

We talk about what DMCA actually means, how working with T-Pain and Clix came about, and what Slip.Stream’s overall goal and mission is in all this.

1. If you’re a creator who’s looking for music for their streams or videos, Slip.Stream has over 100.000 songs and sound effects in their library! All you need to do is create an account and you immediately get access to the Free section of their catalog, but there’s also a number of paid tiers that you can choose from depending on what you need. 
2. When it comes to artists, Jesse says that Slip.Stream is very artist centric. All the founders have backgrounds in music publishing and licensing, and for them, it’s about creating equitable and fair compensation, as well as giving musicians the opportunity for exposure and revenue. 
3. Slip.Stream has worked with some big names: from T-Pain to Clix, to companies like Riot Games and Sony. According to Jesse, their collaborations all come down to like-mindedness, and alignment in terms of a forward-looking vision, especially in the livestreaming and creator space. 
4. When it comes to enforcing attribution, Jesse says that while he feels that it’s important, they don’t focus on it too much. For him it’s all about common decency: if you’re getting something for free, the least people can do is give attribution. He says the focus is more on protection against claims than enforcing attribution. 
5. Slip.Stream doesn’t currently have a traditional app, only their web app. This is because they feel like this is the easiest way to make the service accessible on any device. He says they’re focused on making sure that the web app and any integration into other platforms works seamlessly and efficiently.
