Speedify LIVE Office Hours: Q&A With Our Developers

On the 185th episode of Speedify LIVE we hold our weekly Office Hours with the Devs to discuss what’s new in Speedify and what’s next on the roadmap.

We take viewer questions, take a look at some user-specific Mailbag tickets, and discuss all the new improvements of Speedify 13.1.

Here are our 5 takeaways from our Office Hours:

1. Speedify 13.1 is out on all platforms! We focused a lot on Apple users, upgrading the purchasing store kit to Apple’s modern API, and improving memory usage on Macs; we also made styling improvements to how the UI displays in different languages; added more performance fixes, improving how we handle latency and jitter; and we comply with Google’s permission requests on Android 13 a bit more. 
2. When it comes to older versions of Speedify and operating systems, we try to keep things as up to date as possible! We generally support app versions for 2 years, and while we don’t force updates as they come out, we do shut off old versions early in some cases. Due to security concerns, we do recommend staying up to date on both the app and your operating system, so you won’t have to worry about bugs! 
3. This week’s Mailbag Question brings up something that’s common with VPNs: being blocked by antivirus and firewall software! Because Speedify is actually two separate programs, the UI and VPN, the antivirus program can see these and think they shouldn’t be talking to each other. Disabling the antivirus or whitelisting Speedify should get things back on track! 
4. IPv6 has been a highly requested addition to Speedify, and we are working on it, but there are some obstacles! While Speedify itself has supported IPv6 for years, there’s many difficulties finding the right server provider with what we would need, as it’s still not standardized and the hosting providers don’t provide it, so for now you would need IPv4 .
5. With Speedify 13.2 we’re working on a number of important updates! We’re looking to give our Bypass feature an overhaul, with more websites and apps available to be bypassed, giving it a fresh interface with the option to search through the domains that may be blocking you and be alerted if they do.
