Port forwarding is done on the device that communicates with the Internet directly. This is usually a modem, router or server.
Many devices and apps do the port forwarding setup automatically. To manually set up port forwarding, you need to specify a unique port and an IP address. All incoming connections from the Internet that use that specific port will be forwarded to the IP address.

- Get a Speedify for Teams subscription. Don’t forget to include the dedicated server add-on!
- Download and install Speedify on your devices. Both the ones you’ll be connecting from and the ones you’ll access.
- Set up port forwarding on the “server” machines. Click the gear icon on the Speedify dashboard to open the General Settings menu. Go to the Session Settings menu:
- Add port forwarding rules. Type a port number, select TCP or UDP and click the + to add another rule.
