IRL Bike Ride around Philadelphia | Speedify LIVE

On the 127th episode of Speedify LIVE we do a special IRL stream as we head out to the streets of Philadelphia on a bike ride to put Speddify to the real test!

We chat about Philly history, demonstrate how Speedify can work even in the worst places, like elevators, and discuss how our remote graph helps us monitor Speedify in real time!

Here are our 5 takeaways from our IRL bike ride across Philly:

1. As per usual, our IRL setup consists of the following: an iPhone 12 Pro as our camera, running Speedify and combining two cellular connections, its own and the Wi-Fi Hotspot of another phone, in our backpack, helping us stay online in elevators, under bridges and between steel buildings. 
2. When it comes to IRL streaming software, we’re sticking with what works: We’re using Larix Broadcaster, sending RTMP to Restream Studio which helps us add overlays and graphics, and sends the stream to Twitch, YouTube, etc. 
3. We’re using a special bike for this IRL stream! We are using the REI Co-op Cycles CTY e2.1 Electric Bike, as recommended by one of our team members. You can still pedal it, but it has a battery that can provide up to 50 miles of pedal assist. 
4. In order to monitor Speedify’s performance remotely, we use our remote graph that’s currently only available on a special Speedify build! We are planning on adding this remote monitoring option in a future version, where you could toggle the feature on or off, and access this web view to see your data in real time!
5. Speedify has saved our stream multiple times during the bike ride! Thanks to the graph we can see Latency, Usage and Failures, and there were a number of failures with one of our cellular connections that only showed up as a small glitch during the stream, thanks to Speedify’s bonding and seamless failover.
