Keep Your Commercial Fleets and Vessels Always Connected to the Internet with Speedify

Reliable Internet for Commercial Fleets and Vessels on the Move

A delivery truck losing its telematics connection for ten minutes is an inconvenience. A vessel losing its only connection mid-voyage is a much bigger problem, cutting off tracking, crew communication, and safety systems until land or a tower comes back into range.

Starlink has closed much of the coverage gap at sea and on remote routes, but a single satellite connection is still one internet connection, and any fleet depending on just one link inherits that link’s every outage.

Speedify solves this by bonding every internet connection available on a vehicle or vessel – Wi-Fi, 4G/5G cellular, Starlink, and others – into one resilient link instead of depending on any single provider. Through Speedify’s channel bonding technology, Speedify combines Wi-Fi, 4G/5G cellular, Ethernet, Starlink and other satellite connections, using up to 95% of the combined capacity and shifting traffic to whichever connection is healthiest at that moment.

Internet connectivity challenges across a moving fleet

Fleet and maritime operators run into a consistent set of problems as vehicles and vessels move across changing conditions:

Bonding Starlink, cellular, and shore Wi-Fi per vehicle or vessel

Every vehicle or vessel in a fleet has its own mix of available connections, and Speedify bonds whatever is present rather than requiring an identical setup across the board. A long-haul truck might bond two cellular carriers, while a vessel bonds Starlink with shore Wi-Fi when docked and cellular when close to the coast. This is the same approach detailed in bonding Starlink and 5G for business connectivity, and Speedify’s enterprise channel bonding extends it across an entire fleet rather than one vehicle at a time.

How Speedify centralizes it with Teams and dedicated servers

Fleet managers overseeing dozens or hundreds of vehicles and vessels need one place to see connection health across the whole operation, not a separate check-in for each unit.

Speedify Teams gives administrators a central dashboard for connection status and data usage across every deployed vehicle, while dedicated servers give the fleet predictable, controlled routing instead of variable public exit points for every connection.

Failover that protects telematics, calls, and cloud apps

Telematics reporting, driver or crew communication, and cloud-based logistics apps all need to stay connected through changing conditions, not reconnect every time a vehicle passes through a coverage gap. Speedify shifts active sessions to a working connection in under a second when one path degrades, so a call in progress or a telematics upload continues instead of dropping and restarting.

Data residency, static IP options, and rolling out across a mixed fleet

Fleet operators handling regulated cargo or working across multiple jurisdictions often need traffic to route through a specific, known location rather than an unpredictable public IP. Dedicated servers give a fleet static IP options and support data residency requirements, so a vehicle’s connection behaves consistently regardless of which physical path is carrying traffic at that moment. Rolling this out across a mixed fleet of trucks and vessels typically follows this sequence:

  1. Inventory the connections available on each vehicle or vessel type: cellular carriers, satellite terminals, shore Wi-Fi access.
  2. Install a Powered by Speedify router on vehicles and vessels that need fleet-wide bonding at the hardware level.
  3. Enroll every unit in Speedify Teams for centralized monitoring.
  4. Assign dedicated servers where static IP or data residency requirements apply.
  5. Test failover on a few units before extending the rollout fleet-wide.

Bonding cannot conjure signal in open water or a coverage dead zone. Speedify needs at least two working connections on a vehicle or vessel to bond them, so a unit with only one satellite terminal and no cellular backup still depends on that single connection alone.

Fleet and Vessel Connectivity: FAQ

Can Speedify bond Starlink with cellular on the same vessel?
Yes. Speedify bonds Starlink with cellular and shore Wi-Fi wherever those connections are available, combining them into a single resilient link.

Does every vehicle in a fleet need identical hardware to use Speedify?
No. Speedify bonds whatever connections are actually present on each vehicle or vessel, so a mixed fleet does not need a uniform setup to benefit.

Can fleet managers monitor every vehicle’s connection from one dashboard?
Yes. Speedify Teams provides a central dashboard showing connection status and data usage across every enrolled vehicle or vessel.

Does Speedify support static IP addresses for regulated cargo tracking?
Speedify’s dedicated servers support static IP options and data residency requirements for fleets that need consistent, predictable routing.
