Mobile Application Security Assessment (MASA) is a program of the App Defense Alliance, started by Google, in which independent labs audit mobile apps. The labs test against the Mobile Application Security Verification Standard (MASVS) from the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), an established industry standard for mobile application security.
In the MASA program, authorized labs check a mobile app’s encryption, how it handles data, and whether it follows established security practices.
