Speedify 16.9 Adds a Faster VPN Adapter on Windows
On Windows, all your internet traffic passes through a VPN adapter, a virtual network card that Windows hands your traffic to for encryption and for spreading across your internet connections. Everything you do online goes through the VPN adapter, so the speed of the VPN adapter matters to every app on the PC.
The short version: Speedify 16.9, released on 8 June 2026 for Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux and OpenWrt, moves Windows to a newer, much faster VPN adapter and speeds up Speedify’s other interactions with Windows. Speedify 16.9 also detects and prioritizes SRT live video traffic better, keeps calls, games and live streams smoother when your internet connections have different delays, fixes gaps and other display issues in the Speedify graphs, and improves error handling in Speedify’s Pair & Share cellular sharing feature.
In this release:
- A newer, much faster VPN adapter on Windows
- Better detection and prioritization of SRT streaming traffic
- Smoother calls, games and live streams when your internet connections have different delays
- Fixes to the Speedify graphs and to Pair & Share cellular sharing error handling
A Faster VPN Adapter for Speedify on Windows
Speedify 16.9 switches Windows to a newer, much faster VPN adapter. Speedify’s other interactions with the Windows operating system got faster too. There is nothing to set up: update Speedify on each Windows PC.
Better Detection and Prioritization of SRT Streams
SRT, short for Secure Reliable Transport, is an open protocol that broadcasters use to send live video over unreliable networks. With Enhance Streaming, Speedify identifies audio and video streams, puts the streams ahead of other internet traffic such as web browsing or software updates, and switches between bonding and redundancy as conditions on your internet connections change. Speedify 16.9 detects and prioritizes SRT traffic better.
Enhance Streaming is on by default and works in Speed bonding mode. If Speedify misses a stream, add the destination yourself: open Settings, then Session Settings, then Streaming Prioritization, and make a group with the port, IP address or domain of the streaming server.
Smoother Calls and Games on Internet Connections With Different Delays
Latency, also called ping, is the time data takes to travel from your device to a server and back. Video calls, online games and live streams feel latency the most. Speedify bonding works best when the internet connections you combine have similar speed and latency. Speedify 16.9 keeps calls, games and live streams smoother when your internet connections have different latencies.
If one internet connection is much slower or has much higher latency than the rest, the guide to which internet connections to bond still suggests setting the slower internet connection to Backup priority.
Speedify Graph and Pair & Share Cellular Sharing Fixes
The Speedify graphs at the top of the dashboard show traffic, latency, packet loss and more in real time. Speedify 16.9 fixes gaps and other display issues in the graphs.
Pair & Share cellular sharing lets Speedify users on the same local network share and combine 4G and 5G cellular internet connections. Speedify 16.9 fixes error handling in Pair & Share cellular sharing.
