Speedify × Retail & Point of Sale
Payment processing that works. Every transaction.
The Problem
An ISP outage during peak trading hours costs more than a year of backup connectivity.
Most retail locations run POS systems on a single ISP line. When that line goes down, everything stops: card transactions, inventory syncs, loyalty point accruals, real-time fraud checks. Staff switch to paper workarounds under peak load. Some transactions are recovered with manual imprinters. Most of the operational data isn't.
Pop-up retail operations, market stalls, and mobile food vendors face a different problem: no fixed-line infrastructure at all. A single-carrier 4G/5G hotspot works until it doesn't. Tower congestion or marginal coverage at a venue takes it out without warning.
For retail chains, one location's outage affects the whole brand. Customers who can't pay don't usually wait.
The Solution
Primary Ethernet bonded with cellular backup. Both active. Zero interruption.
- Active POS sessions and card transactions continue without interruption when any single connection fails. No manual switching, no staff intervention required.
- Speedify bonds a second ISP line for high-volume locations where even brief downtime carries significant cost: combined throughput from both lines, plus automatic failover across all three paths.
- Speedify for Routers covers the entire store network from one device — POS terminals, stock management systems, digital signage, and staff devices all benefit simultaneously.
- All traffic through Speedify is encrypted with AES-256-GCM end-to-end, including payment data in transit.
Scenarios
Built for every kind of retail & point of sale operation.
01 / Fixed retail stores and restaurants
POS systems that keep processing through ISP outages.
02 / Pop-up retail and market vendors
A portable bonded internet connection where there is no fixed-line infrastructure.
Pop-up retailers and market vendors operating without fixed-line internet bond 4G/5G cellular from multiple carriers using a compatible network bonding router, such as the Miri X510. Speedify's Pair & Share feature can add bandwidth from staff phones to the bonded connection when cellular signal is marginal at a particular venue. POS systems process transactions continuously throughout the trading day.
03 / Multi-location retail chains
One IT team manages connectivity across every store.
04 / High-volume and time-critical transactions
High-throughput POS environments where every transaction window matters.
Stack
Speedify works under the POS and retail management systems you already run.
Speedify for Routers deploys at the store network edge, covering every device on the network automatically.
PCI DSS note: Speedify Self-Hosted Servers route all Speedify traffic through retailer-controlled infrastructure for organisations with specific card data routing requirements.
The Solution
Two ways to run Speedify in retail environments.
Network level: store router
Install Speedify on a compatible OpenWrt router or GL.iNet device at the store network edge. Every device on the store network: POS terminals, stock management workstations, digital signage, staff devices — benefits from bonded connectivity automatically.
- Supported OpenWrt routers: With a Speedify for Routers license.
- Powered by Speedify routers: Speedify is preinstalled and ready to configure.
Speedify Teams: chain-wide management
Visibility
Every link, on screen, before it affects your business.
Speedify integrates directly with Starlink's dish telemetry to surface real-time link health on the Speedify dashboard. Obstruction events, signal degradation, thermal throttling, and hardware faults appear within 15 seconds of detection.
Each Starlink dish reports independently, so a local engineer or back at the network operations center can pinpoint exactly which link is degrading.
