On the 192nd episode of Speedify LIVE we take a look into the world of Assistance Dogs with Daniel Johnson-Morris, CTO of the Assistance Dog Council in the UK, that focuses on helping disabled people and their assistance dogs.

We chat about how the ADC came to be, the differences between attitudes towards assistance dogs in the UK and US, check out some cute dog pictures, and discuss what may be next for the ADC.

1. We learn that the ADC basically started after Daniel learned that people can train their own assistance dogs during a Facebook conversation with its CEO. He says he used his own experiences with his disability and his military background in admin work to get the charity running so people would have somewhere to turn to for help with their assistance dogs. 
2. When it comes to growth, Daniel says they like to think in terms of “when” and not “if”. They currently operate with a small team of 6 people across the UK, with contact availability through their website, email, phone and Facebook page and group. They are planning on getting an office and expanding throughout the UK, however. 
3. Daniel says that his favorite part of the job is helping people and seeing the results. He says that since he’s gone through his fair share of discrimination himself, knowing that he was able to help someone with an assistance dog is the most rewarding. 
4. Since the ADC doesn’t have an office yet, everyone works from home, and Speedify has been able to help Daniel work reliably! He tells us that his connection was dropping out everyday for months, then he looked up how he can combine connections, found Speedify, started binding his fiber and cellular hotspot and was able to start working reliably!
5. When it comes to social media, the ADC mainly uses Facebook. They have a main page and a group for members too where people can contact them, while also posting regularly about various health and animal related topics; with a small presence on Twitter, and plans to possibly start Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
