Speedify started as a consumer app for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. Now vendors can embed it into their routers and network appliances, as well as IoT and smart devices.
Powered by Speedify provides embedded solutions for the next generation of networking devices. It uses the Speedify technology to deliver faster and more reliable internet for enabled appliances and smart devices. A Speedify router keeps devices online when one internet connection drops only when it has two or more connections; with a single connection it works as an encrypted VPN and cannot stop that connection from dropping.

How Powered by Speedify Helps Provide Better Connectivity
Imagine a typical home or office setup, with a router connected to an ISP over fiber optic, cable, DSL, or satellite, which broadcasts a Wi-Fi network. All devices (smartphones, computers, TVs, game consoles, etc.) use the Internet via that Wi-Fi hotspot. In parallel, mobile phones also have their own cellular connections.
When a router loses its primary internet connection, the Wi-Fi network is still there, but no device on it can reach the internet. Smartphones notice that the Wi-Fi has no internet access and switch to 4G/5G cellular; laptops, TVs and game consoles stay offline.
Speedify’s cellular sharing feature lets devices running Speedify use each other’s internet connections as long as they are on the same Wi-Fi network. In this example, the 4G/5G cellular from the mobile phones can be shared between them, along with the Linux, Mac, and Windows based computers, smart TVs, set top boxes, and other devices running Speedify. This includes the Powered by Speedify router, which allows all devices connected to it to reach the internet over the phones’ cellular connections.
When the primary Internet connection is restored, the Powered by Speedify router will automatically combine all available connections, including the primary ISP, the 4G/5G cellular from the Speedify phones and any additional available connections. This makes the internet faster, more reliable and more secure for all devices.
If the Powered by Speedify router supports multiple built-in WAN interfaces (Multi-WAN), such as wired Ethernet, cellular, a USB dongle or a tethered mobile phone, Speedify will be able to use all available connections and have the option to configure their priority and behavior.
Powered by Speedify Implementation Example
A recent implementation of “Powered by Speedify” was done by Miri Technologies, who launched the Miri X510 bonding router. It integrates Speedify’s technology for combining internet connections to deliver fast, resilient, secure connectivity.
Speedify also runs on routers you may already own: OpenWrt 23.05 or later, and GL.iNet firmware on listed models, with a Speedify Router License that includes a free Individual account for up to 5 other devices.
The X510 can combine up to 7 connections at once (wired, Wi-Fi, 5G and LTE), plus 4G/5G cellular from phones running Speedify through cellular sharing. It is also battery-powered, so it can be used even where no power outlets are available.
