Speedify 16.6.1 Adds the Starlink Alignment Wizard
A Starlink dish works only as well as the dish’s view of the sky. When something blocks part of that view, the Starlink internet connection suffers, and the usual fix is to move or re-aim the dish. Speedify already read stats and alerts from Starlink dishes. Speedify 16.6.1 adds help with the aiming.
The short version: Speedify 16.6.1, released on 17 April 2026 for Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux and OpenWrt, adds the Starlink Alignment Wizard, which helps you align your Starlink dishes optimally. Speedify 16.6.1 also adds a Dish Misaligned alert, lets you dismiss Starlink alerts, shows more Starlink stats in a better organized layout, fixes the log generation progress indicator, fixes support for Android 9 devices, lets Linux users turn PEP rules on and off together with the setting that sends all of the device’s traffic through Speedify, and fixes performance issues with PEP on Linux.
In this release:
- Starlink Alignment Wizard
- A new Dish Misaligned alert, and Starlink alerts you can dismiss
- More Starlink stats, better organized
- Android: support for Android 9 devices fixed
- Linux: PEP rules follow the setting that sends all traffic through Speedify, plus PEP performance fixes
How the Starlink Alignment Wizard Helps Aim a Starlink Dish
The new Starlink Alignment Wizard helps you align your Starlink dishes optimally. Alignment matters because obstruction matters: Speedify treats an obstruction as significant when more than 5% of the dish’s sky view is blocked and latency is over 100 ms, and the advice for that alert is to move the dish to a spot with a clearer view of the sky.
Speedify 16.7 later built on the wizard with Bonding Alignment for several dishes, audio tracking and a Setup Analysis report. The Starlink Control Center guide covers the current version of the wizard.
Starlink Dish Alerts You Can Act On and Dismiss
Speedify shows alerts from your Starlink dish, such as Obstructed, Dish Thermal Throttle, Motors Stuck and Mast Not Near Vertical. Speedify 16.6.1 adds a Dish Misaligned alert and lets you dismiss Starlink alerts.
Many alerts clear without any action, so watch for a while before acting. If an alert lasts more than 24 hours or keeps coming back, contact Starlink support. The Starlink alert guide explains every alert.
More Starlink Stats in the Advanced ISP Stats Card
Speedify 16.6.1 shows more Starlink-specific stats, in a better organized layout. Speedify reads stats such as download and upload speed, latency, ping drop rate (how many test pings get no answer) and connected routers directly from the dish. The stats appear in the Advanced ISP Stats card on the Speedify dashboard, which shows up when Speedify detects a Starlink internet connection.
