Speedify 17: Redundant Mode Now Detects and Prioritizes Streams

Speedify 17 Adds Streaming Enhancements to Redundant Mode

Redundant mode sends all your internet traffic over every internet connection at the same time. If one internet connection drops a packet or cuts out, another internet connection has already delivered the same data. The Speedify guide recommends Redundant mode for live streams, video calls and broadcasts where a dropout would be disruptive. Until Speedify 17, the stream detection and prioritization of Enhance Streaming worked only in Speed mode.

The short version: Speedify 17, released on 13 July 2026 for Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux and OpenWrt, adds Streaming Enhancements to Redundant mode, so Speedify now detects and prioritizes streams while Redundant mode sends every packet over all your internet connections. Speedify 17 also improves streaming performance with SRT, improves failover detection and recovery, fixes cases of over-aggressive bufferbloat protection, adds Android 17 support, fixes Virtual Adapter errors on Windows, and includes general performance improvements and optimizations.

In this release:

  • Streaming Enhancements in Redundant mode
  • Better streaming performance with SRT
  • Improved failover detection and recovery
  • Android 17 support
  • Fixes for bufferbloat protection and for Virtual Adapter errors on Windows

Redundant Mode Now Detects and Prioritizes Streams

In Speed mode, Enhance Streaming identifies audio and video streams and puts the streams ahead of web browsing, software updates and other internet traffic. Speedify 17 brings stream detection and prioritization to Redundant mode. Redundant mode still sends every packet over every internet connection, and streams now also get priority over the rest of your internet traffic.

To turn on Redundant mode, open the ≡ menu in the upper-left corner of the Speedify dashboard, select Bonding Mode, and choose Redundant.

Redundant mode has costs. Redundant mode uses significantly more data and drains your battery faster than Speed mode, and your speed is limited to the speed of your fastest single internet connection. Use Redundant mode for the stream or the call, not for everyday browsing. The bonding mode overview compares the modes.

Better SRT Streaming Performance

SRT, short for Secure Reliable Transport, is an open protocol that broadcasters use to send live video over unreliable networks. Speedify 16.9 improved detection and prioritization of SRT traffic. Speedify 17 improves streaming performance with SRT.

Better Failover Detection and Fixed Bufferbloat Protection

Failover means moving your internet traffic to another internet connection when an internet connection fails. Speedify watches the latency of each internet connection and shifts internet traffic away from an internet connection with a latency spike. Speedify 17 improves failover detection and recovery.

Bufferbloat is the delay that builds up when too much data queues inside routers and modems on a busy internet connection. Speedify includes bufferbloat protection, and in some cases the protection was over aggressive. Speedify 17 fixes those cases.

Android 17 Support, Windows Fixes and Performance

  • On Android, Speedify 17 adds support for Android 17.
  • On Windows, Speedify 17 fixes Virtual Adapter errors. The Virtual Adapter is the virtual network card that Windows hands internet traffic to so Speedify can carry the traffic.
  • Performance improvements and optimizations across Speedify.
