Network congestion occurs when too many users in your area access the same satellite, typically during evening hours or in densely populated regions. Obstructions from trees, buildings, or even accumulated snow can cause periodic disconnections. Weather conditions such as heavy rain or storms can temporarily affect signal strength.

Geographic location also plays a role. Users in areas with fewer satellites overhead or at the edge of coverage zones may experience slower speeds or higher latency. Additionally, the standard Starlink dish has power and thermal limitations that can affect performance during extreme weather conditions.

These issues aren't necessarily problems you can solve through troubleshooting your existing setup. Sometimes, the solution requires additional infrastructure rather than configuration changes.

To get an additional Starlink dish, go to the "Subscriptions" tab of your Starlink account and click "Add Subscription" on the top right or open the "Shop" tab and select "Order another Starlink". Each dish requires its own service plan, but they can be managed from a single account interface.
