Traveling and Haggling While Livestreaming
On the 83rd episode of Speedify LIVE we take a peek into the life of a travel vlogger, and professional haggler, as we're joined by Collin Abroadcast.Â
We discuss the best countries to haggle, Collin's favorite deals he's managed to get over his years of traveling, how he stays healthy with all the amazing street food on offer, as well as his experiences with Speedify.Â
Here are our 5 takeaways from our chat with Collin:
- Collin has quite the setup for his videos: a Panasonic GH5 as the main camera, a Sony a7 IIIÂ as the secondary camera, mainly used for B-roll footage; for audio: a lavalier mic, connected to a Zoom H1 audio recorder, while the built-in camera mic serves as a backup. For the smooth footage Collin uses a Moza Air 2S electronic stabilizer, and a Glidecam weighted stabilizer. And finally, for editing: a 2020 Razer Blade 17 with 8TB of internal SSD.Â
- When it comes to editing videos, Collin has been using PowerDirector for years! He says that it's an intuitive, easy-to-use app that is a great way to start with video editing.Â
- Collin has a couple YouTube channels apart from his main one, and he's looking to get into VR travel on one of them! He already has an Insta360 camera that allows to shoot video in 360 degrees, but he's looking to upgrade to a Canon EOS R5, which is a dual fisheye lens with great quality footage!
- We get some great advice when it comes to traveling: keep an open mind! Collin says that you shouldn't let the bad things you may read online scare you away from going to places. Just do your research, go into your travels with an open mind, and remember that everybody around the world is the same.
- Speedify has helped Collin out in some tough situations where connectivity wasn't exactly great. He started using Speedify in 2019, when he got stuck in a lockdown in Egypt, where connections tend to be slow. He bought a couple USB wifi dongles and another sim card, which all combined in Speedify helped him upload his videos much quicker!
