Speedify LIVE Office Hours: Q&A With Our Developers

February 1, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST

What's New in Speedify 13

On the 172nd episode of Speedify LIVE we hold our Weekly office Hours with the Speedify Devs to talk about all the new features that are coming in Speedify 13!

We take viewer questions, take a look at some lesser-known features in the app that may help getting started, and answer some user-specific cases from our Mailbag.

Here are our 5 takeaways from Office Hours:

  1. Speedify has a bunch of different notifications available in-app, that you can toggle off or on at any time! Head to Settings in the top left hamburger menu, scroll down to the Display section, and under Notifications toggle any of the categories you don’t want to see off.
  2. Speedify 13 is now available! With this release we added a number of big and some more subtle features. One big thing is the rotating graphs, which you can turn off of course; while the biggest news is our native Apple M2 support, as well as updates to Apple Bypass codes and some other under the hood fixes for each platform; while we also rebased our entire internal engine so now we’re using AES-256 encryption!
  3. Mailbag Question No.1 brings up the issue of “no internet” when bonding connections in Speedify. In this case, you may want to check if all your connections work with Speedify on their own, one of them could be the culprit; you can also adjust priorities on them to see if setting one to Secondary helps.
  4. Mailbag Question No. 2 brings us the issue of laggy Zoom calls with Starlink and a hotspot in Speedify. In this case, likely the best solution is to make sure the cellular is Secondary priority and not Backup, so it’s easier for Speedify to fail over in case Starlink drops out.
  5. Mailbag Question No. 3 brings up the question of our long-awaited Apple M1 support – which we now have with Speedify 13! We now provide native M1 and M2 support for Mac devices, so you won’t need Rosetta anymore, BUT we will still support Intel versions as well, in case that’s what you have.
We now use AES-256 instead of AES-128. So a huge upgrade for our encryption. We basically rebased our entire internal engine and updated everything and made sure everything is top-notch.
