When we first started talking about our vision for Speedify, we imagined a scenario where neighbors could share bandwidth the same way that they might borrow a bit of milk or a pinch of sugar from one another. The “nearby neighbor” use-case would be a game-changer for folks in areas where DSL and other low-bandwidth Internet services are the only option.

We’re always keen to get feedback from Speedify users, so you can imagine how excited we were when Keith V. messaged us to explain that he and his neighbor were both using Speedify to enjoy faster speeds at home.

As long as neighbors are in range of each other’s Wi-Fi networks, setting up Speedify to combine both connections is a piece of cake. Keith and his neighbor simply signed up for Speedify and downloaded our client app on their respective Mac or PCs at home. Then, after plugging into the primary home Internet as usual, the neighbors connected to each other’s Wi-Fi networks, too. With Speedify running, both Internet connections are instantly used for faster bandwidth and increased reliability.
