Find a Stream Coordinator
A virtual wedding has an important new role: the Stream Coordinator. This person should be a techie who can handle every part of the stream. The two of you won’t be able to field calls for help that day, so your Stream Coordinator will also be the contact person for your guests. Make sure this person is available for a trial run on the rehearsal day as well as THE big day itself.
Wedding Live Streaming Checklist
- Pick your “Web Venue” or use them all! There is no reason you couldn’t give your guests more than one option so everyone can watch. Bring on Zoom, Facebook Live and YouTube Live and stream across them all.
- Get what you’ll use to stream, include tripods and microphones if necessary. Check your venue to see if they have AV equipment you may use.
- Choose a friend or family member who is a techie and ask them to be your Stream Coordinator. Be sure to get them a boutonniere or bouquet!
- Have a rehearsal and stream it: there’s no better way to work out the kinks before the big day. You’ll know lighting, sound and other needs after this. Your guests, some of whom could be tech challenged, have time to practice this way as well.

- Start the stream about 30 minutes before the ceremony on your Big Day so everyone can join in. Guests can mingle just as they would at a live event; mute them a few minutes before the start, with some of your wedding music playing in the background.
