The US LUCAS drone copied Iran’s Shahed drone tech: the US and Iran have different approaches to military drone warfare navigation tech. The US approach on the LUCAS drone uses advanced satellite links through SpaceX’s StarShield satellite network to guide drones in real time, using similar technology to SpaceX’s Starlink satellites. These satellite connections allow the US to update drone targeting mid-flight and send data back, something Iran’s GPS-guided drones cannot do.
