Speedify LIVE IRL: How You Can Do Fitness Training Without Leaving Your House

January 26, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST

Growing a Fitness Business by Going Online with the Training

On the 47th episode of Speedify Live we get out and get moving, with Nate McIntyre, fitness trainer and founder of Body Rock Bootcamp.

Nate shows us his gym, talks about his experience on Netflix’s Queer Eye, and how he’s managed to keep moving during the pandemic by adapting to hosting his fitness classes on Zoom.

Here are our 5 takeaways from our workout session with Nate:

  1. Since our IRL Livestream setup seems to be working out, we didn’t change it: the cellular data of an iPhone 12 Pro is combined in Speedify with the mobile hotspot of a Google Pixel 4A; we’re running the stream from the iPhone, using Larix Broadcaster, as well as Restream Studio via RTMP link to stream to a number of Livestreaming platforms. And we’re stabilized on a DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Gimbal and using two Rode Wireless Go II microphones to capture the audio.
  2. Nate has been active in the world of fitness for more than 20 years, and has focused on doing boot camps specifically for people who feel intimidated by fitness. He tries to make working out approachable and fun for everyone.
  3. Even though his gym got a full makeover recently, due to the pandemic he had to move his business online like many others. Nate chose Zoom for his classes for its simplicity and ease of use. He just sends out the link to his customers, uses a phone fitted on a ring light and can start the session without complications.
  4. If you need something to work out with at home, Nate suggests a home-made solution: take an old pair of sweatpants, fill it with sand, rice or cat litter, tape in the ends, and you have all the equipment you’ll need, and for cheap, too!
  5. Nate is planning on doing an interview series on Instagram called the Fitness Funk Diaries, where he interviews people who are in a fitness funk or are intimidated by getting started with working out. He hopes to help people with this series to get motivated and get back into fitness.
I think that online fitness is here to say. If you have the opportunity to implement it into your current real life regimen, I definitely recommend you doing it, because it will help you stay more consistent.
