Why a Single Office Internet Connection Is a Business Risk

Most offices run on one internet connection: a fiber or wired broadband line from one internet provider. When that line goes down, everything stops. Phone calls over the internet drop, video meetings disconnect, cloud apps go offline, and staff can’t reach shared drives, the CRM or any other online tool.

Internet provider outages happen more often than most businesses plan for: maintenance, broken equipment, a damaged line down the street, or a network so busy at peak hours that it slows to a crawl. How to Set Up Speedify for Your Office Internet

Option 1: Run Speedify on the Office Router

• Connect your main wired broadband line and your second internet connection (4G/5G cellular, a line from a second internet provider, or a Starlink dish) to a router that works with Speedify or a Miri X510.
• Install Speedify on the router with the Speedify install script. Sign in with your Speedify account and activate your router license.
• Add each internet connection in Speedify’s router settings. Speedify starts using them together automatically.
• Set a priority for each internet connection in Speedify. Set both to Always to get the combined upload speed. If your 4G/5G cellular plan has a data cap, set it to Backup instead, so Speedify only uses it when the wired line drops.

Option 2: Install Speedify Teams on Staff Devices

• Create a Speedify Teams account and add your staff from the Teams Dashboard.
• Each staff member installs the Speedify app and signs in with their team account.
• On each device, connect to the office wired broadband or Wi-Fi, and to 4G/5G cellular through a hotspot or a phone plugged in by cable. Speedify uses both automatically.
