Meet Lucile, the First Live Streaming Short Film – Powered with Stable Internet by Speedify
Filming a short film in front of a live online audience leaves no room for a stalled upload: the take happens whether the internet cooperates or not. A single internet connection on location is a gamble, because live video needs steady upload throughout the shoot.
Speedify is an app that runs one stream over two or more internet connections at the same time (Wi-Fi, 4G/5G cellular, wired Ethernet, Starlink and others), so a dip on one internet connection does not interrupt the broadcast. With only one internet connection, Speedify works as an encrypted VPN and cannot stop that connection from dropping.
The interview and story below follow one production that streamed to a live audience, and what using Speedify gave that crew.
Chris Carson, SteadiReadi: “Being Able to Combine Multiple Internet Connections is the Holy Grail of Connection Stability and Speed”
To find out more about what happened behind the scenes, Speedify interviewed Chris Carson of SteadiReadi, the project lead for Meet Lucile. Since he discovered Speedify for connection stability and speed, Chris has become one of Speedify’s biggest supporters.
Check out the video interview below to see how the Meet Lucile live streaming film idea was born, what the subject is and how Speedify helped.
Meet Lucile Live Streaming Short Film Is a Success. Speedify Is Proud to Be Part of It
Chris Carson elaborates on the issues they were having in terms of connection stability: “We have looked at many services that are out there. The problem with a lot of them is they’re unbelievably expensive: thousands of dollars for just a few GB of data – that’s just not practical for the common person.“
Speedify provides a way to combine multiple Internet connections at the same time, which is definitely a must in the world of live streaming in order to avoid choppy / jittery video, buffering or even disconnects.
How Speedify Keeps a Live Streaming Connection Stable
Speedify was built from the ground up to combine internet connections for faster, more reliable internet. Speedify also encrypts your traffic like a mobile VPN service, which can help against ISP data throttling aimed at video. Speedify lets you pick a server country, but it is not designed to get around regional restrictions.
