Use a Tethered Android Phone Together with a Wired Ethernet for Faster, More Reliable Internet

Whenever you got the chance, you should definitely use multiple Internet connections together. This will bring in more speed and greater reliability, avoiding Internet disconnects or non-working connections of any sort.

All you need is a channel bonding (or link aggregation) software app like Speedify. In this post, we are going to walk you through the steps to combine wired Ethernet (LAN) and a tethered Android smartphone Internet connection on your Windows PC using Speedify fast bonding VPN.

3 Steps to Combine Ethernet and Tethered Android Phone at the Same Time on Your Windows PC

Step 1: Connect your Ethernet cable to your PC and plug the other end into your modem or router. In most cases, you will connect to the Internet automatically. If it doesn’t work, see some troubleshooting options here.

Step 2: Tether your Android smartphone to your PC via Wi-Fi (most convenient), USB cable or Bluetooth.
As Wi-Fi tethering is most convenient as it’s the fastest and requires no cables, we’ll describe that procedure below.

First, create a Wi-Fi hotspot on your Android smartphone (Wi-Fi tethering). To do this, you can usually swipe down on the notification bar and tap on the hotspot icon. You should also enable the cellular data connection if it’s off. Or, you can go to the Settings screen and toggle them on from the Networks (mobile data) / Tethering (Wi-Fi hotspot) areas.

Then, configure the Wi-Fi hotspot on your Android smartphone.
Usually there’s an icon in the notification area of the Android smartphone. Swipe down and tap on that. You’ll be able to set up the Wi-Fi hotspot: SSID and password.

Lastly, connect your PC to the Wi-Fi network.
Click on the computer or Wi-Fi symbol in the lower right corner of the taskbar (systray). Turn on Wi-Fi by clicking on the tile in the lower side of the pop-up menu and select the Wi-Fi hotspot you set up on your phone. Enter your password (if you set one up) and you’re good to go.

How Does Speedify Work?

Speedify is powered by a magical technology called channel bonding. This allows you to use multiple Internet connections simultaneously for their combined speed and reliability. Everything including uploads, downloads, web browsing, gaming and streaming video can be improved by Speedify.

Step 3: Start Speedify on your PC and combine the wired Ethernet and tethered Android smartphone on your PC. When you launch Speedify, the software automatically detects the two connections. You will see them each contained in a Connection Bubble near the top of the Dashboard.

And presto! You’re combining connections with the magic of Channel Bonding for improved speed, reliability, and security. You are now free to go forth and browse the internet, stream videos, and use your apps as you normally would.
