Guide to Live Streaming on the Go with Speedify

Reliability, Best Quality and Security When Live Streaming On-the-Go

Long gone are the days where you would stream something live from a professional studio or even a fixed location such as an events venue or your home. With the explosion of social media platforms, becoming a field reporter for what you consider to be worth sharing has never been easier. Most of us have already live streamed while traveling or from the streets. But we’ve also had our share of errors related to spotty or limited Internet bandwidth, latency (lag) or jittery / choppy video quality reported by our watchers.

Whether you’re live streaming on-the-go on YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitter, Twitch or other platforms, there are 3 rock-solid things you have to think about:

  • Connection reliability – no disconnects
  • Connection speed – bandwidth, latency
  • Connection security – no hackers

Read below to see how easy it is to get a fast, secure and dependable Internet connection so you can run live streaming on-the-go with peace of mind that everyone will get the best available quality.

Quick answer

Should you have a backup 4G, 5G, Starlink, or cable internet connection?

Yes — every internet connection goes down, including Starlink, which drops for ~34 minutes a day on average. A backup connection from a different provider means one outage never takes you fully offline. The most common options are a 4G/5G cellular hotspot, a cable or DSL line, or a second satellite dish.

Speedify bonds any two connections into one — automatic failover, more speed, no dropped calls.

Why Am I Seeing Connectivity Issues when Live Streaming On-the-Go

It’s not only you and it’s not even related to your live streaming app. We’ve all been there – experiencing slow Internetand even disconnects at some point. But it’s most annoying when you’re streaming live video online on-the-go.

Being on the move or traveling – on the street, bus, train – poses some specific challenges when it comes to how your mobile device connects to the Internet. You may be connected to a bad / spotty WiFi hotspot. As mobile devices prefer WiFi connections for mobile data, they will be stuck with that non-working hotspot, even though LTE would be a better alternative in that specific area.

Also, if you’re live streaming on-the-go from crowded areas – the available bandwidth may not be sufficient to serve everyone on a stadium, at a concert or at a frat house party.

Here’s what usually happens, from a more technical perspective:

  • There’s not enough bandwidth available for your live stream so either the quality drops (jittery / choppy video) or you see disconnects
  • The WiFi coverage is spotty – this leads to disconnects
  • The WiFi hotspot is offline, but your device connects to it – your mobile device clings to it as it cannot tell it doesn’t work. So, instead of switching back to LTE to keep the stream going, it will disconnect it.

How Speedify Fixes Live Streaming On-the-Go Internet Issues

If the Internet connection speed and latency causes issues with your live video streams on the go, then you should get more bandwidth, preferably from more sources.

Speedify is a software app that gets you faster, more reliable and secure Internet by allowing you to use multiple Internet connections at the same time. By doing that, you’re not only solving the bandwidth and latency issues related to live streaming on-the-go videos, but also the need for an automatic failover mechanism that needs to kick in should anything happen to one of your connections.

In order to combine 2 or more Internet connections simultaneously, Speedify uses patent pending channel bonding technology to do that – it’s the only software-only solution that can run on any device, whether it’s a desktop or laptop computer, smartphone or tablet.

If one of your connections fails, Speedify automatically reroutes all the traffic through your other available connection(s). This happens in the background without you having to do anything. When the dropped connection is back online, Speedify will pick it up and start using it again.

It protects you from compromised wifi networks and snooping hackers. It uses real military-grade encryption to make sure your private data stays under your control and nobody can swat you out of your live streaming session.

Before Speedify, users often had to choose between security and speed. Because Speedify was designed with speed as one of its primary goals, you no longer have to sacrifice speed for security. You can have both.
