Internet
- A Starlink dish on what is now a Starlink Roam plan: the main internet connection
- Comcast cable: the second internet connection
- Speedify: to use the Starlink internet connection and the Comcast line at the same time

Video and Audio
- 2 cameras powered through their Ethernet cable (Power over Ethernet), which suits cameras on a roof: the stream uses Lorex 4K IP cameras.
- Slip.stream, for music that creators can stream without copyright strikes.
You don’t need Slip.stream if you want to stream the cameras’ own sound.
Streaming PC and Software

- OBS: the streaming software, with these add-ons:
- Advanced Scene Switcher: to cycle through the camera views
- OBS Remote Parameters script: works with the Streamlabs chatbot, so viewers can type commands in the Twitch chat to switch the OBS scene
- WebSocket 4.0 Compat: keeps the Streamlabs chatbot working, because Remote Parameters scene switching doesn’t work with the newer websocket that comes with OBS 28
- Streamlabs chatbot: can control OBS through its websocket. Custom scripts also need IronPython to work.
5 Steps to Set Up a Non-Stop Livestream with Chat Commands
Here is what to do:
- Set up the camera or cameras where you want to stream from. The Speedify team put them on the roof of its office building, which is why cameras powered over their Ethernet cable make sense there.
- Set up the streaming PC. Install OBS Studio, the add-ons above, the Streamlabs chatbot and Speedify.
In this setup, the Streamlabs chatbot is connected to the Twitch chat. It reads the commands viewers type and passes them to OBS Remote Parameters over the OBS websocket, and OBS switches to that scene for a while.
If you use Slip.stream for music, download a batch of songs into a folder and have OBS play them as a VLC source. - Set up your two internet connections, here Starlink and Comcast, and make sure both work.
- Use both internet connections at once with Speedify. The streaming PC connects to both Starlink and Comcast with Ethernet cables, using an extra USB-to-Ethernet adapter, but one Ethernet and one Wi-Fi connection work too. In Speedify, set both to Primary, so Speedify uses both all the time.
