Speedify Keeps Your Office Internet Online
Speedify gives your business automatic internet failover and faster upload and download speeds in the office. When your primary internet connection – Starlink, satellite, fiber optic, wired broadband, Wi-Fi, 4G/5G cellular – slows down or drops, Speedify instantly moves all traffic to your backup internet connections without interrupting active calls, file transfers, or cloud applications.
This article covers how Speedify’s channel bonding technology works in an office environment, what internet connection setups work best, and how to deploy Speedify across your team.
Why a Single Office Internet Connection Is a Business Risk
Most offices run on a single internet connection: a fiber optic or wired broadband line from one ISP. When that connection goes down, everything stops. VoIP calls drop. Video conferences disconnect. Cloud applications go offline. Staff can’t access shared drives, CRMs, or any other internet-dependent tool.
ISP outages are more common than most businesses plan for. Maintenance windows, hardware failures, local line damage, and congestion during peak hours all cause interruptions. For businesses that depend on real-time communication, like sales teams on calls, support teams in tickets, remote workers in video conferences, even a short outage has a direct cost.
Router-level failover, available in enterprise routers from manufacturers like Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, and Peplink, addresses this by switching to a backup internet connection when the primary drops. But router-level failover operates at the session level: when the router cuts from your primary wired broadband to a 4G/5G cellular backup, every active internet session resets. VoIP calls drop and must re-dial. Video conferences disconnect. File uploads abort.
Speedify operates differently. Speedify’s channel bonding technology works at the data packet level, not the session level. Active sessions are unaffected when an underlying internet connection switches. A Zoom call stays connected. A file upload continues. Staff don’t notice the failover event.
How Speedify Improves Office Internet Connectivity
Speedify bonds all available internet connections simultaneously: wired Ethernet broadband, Wi-Fi, 4G/5G cellular, and Starlink or other satellite. Speedify distributes your office’s internet traffic across all of them in real time while monitoring latency, packet loss, and jitter on each internet connection and adjusts routing decisions automatically.
For offices with a single wired broadband line, adding a 4G/5G cellular connection bonded with Speedify gives you both a speed boost and automatic failover. Speedify uses both internet connections at once for faster upload and download speeds (up to 95% of their combined speeds) while keeping the 4G/5G cellular connection active and ready to take over instantly if the wired broadband line fails.
For offices with multiple wired broadband lines from different ISPs, Speedify bonds them together so your team gets the combined upload and download speeds of all active connections, with automatic failover across all of them.

Speedify Office Internet Setup Options
- Speedify for Routers: network-wide coverage. Install Speedify on a compatible router running OpenWrt, a GL.iNet device, or a Miri X510 bonding router. Every device on your office network, like laptops, desktop computers, IP phones, printers, smart displays, and any other networked device, benefits from Speedify’s channel bonding automatically. No software installation required on individual devices. This is the right approach for offices that want centralized internet failover and bonding without per-device configuration.
- Speedify Teams: per-device for staff. Install the Speedify Teams app on staff devices running Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android. Each device bonds its available internet connections independently. This is the right approach for distributed teams, hybrid offices, and businesses where staff regularly work from multiple locations.
- Dedicated Speed Server add-on. For offices that need a static IP address for IP whitelisting, port forwarding, or a private connection point for VPN access, a Speedify Dedicated Speed Server provides a managed private server with up to 1 Gbps throughput and 3 TB of bandwidth per month. Speedify handles maintenance and updates.
- Self-Hosted Server add-on. For businesses with data residency requirements or specific network architecture constraints, a Speedify Self-Hosted Server lets your IT team run Speedify traffic through private infrastructure on any cloud provider or physical hardware you control.
How to Set Up Speedify for Your Office
Option 1: Deploy Speedify on a Router
- Connect your primary wired broadband line and your backup internet connection: 4G/5G cellular, a second ISP line, or a Starlink satellite dish to a Speedify-compatible router running OpenWrt firmware or a Miri X510 bonding router.
- Install Speedify on the router using the Speedify install script. Sign in with your Speedify account credentials and activate your Router License.
- Configure all available internet connections as WAN interfaces and add them in the Speedify router interface. Speedify begins bonding them automatically.
- Set connection priorities: assign your primary wired broadband to Always priority and your backup 4G/5G cellular or secondary wired connection to Backup priority. Speedify manages failover automatically from that point forward.
Option 2: Deploy Speedify Teams on Staff Devices
- Create a Speedify Teams account and add your staff from the Teams Dashboard.
- Each staff member installs the Speedify app on their device and signs in with their team credentials.
- On each device, connect to the office wired broadband or Wi-Fi as the primary internet connection and a 4G/5G cellular connection via a hotspot or tethered phone as the secondary. Speedify bonds both automatically.
- Manage all devices, monitor internet connection performance, and view usage analytics from the Speedify Teams Dashboard at speedify.com/for-teams.

Which Businesses Need Speedify for Office Internet
- Sales and customer support teams. Any office where staff are on VoIP calls or video conferences throughout the day cannot afford dropped connections. Speedify’s packet-level failover keeps calls running through ISP outages without requiring staff to redial.
- Financial services and professional services. Law firms, accountants, and financial advisors handling client work over cloud applications and encrypted VPN connections need internet connectivity that doesn’t reset active sessions during a failover event. Speedify preserves sessions across connection switches.
- Remote and hybrid teams. Staff working from home or from multiple locations benefit from Speedify bonding their home broadband with a 4G/5G cellular connection. Speedify keeps video calls and cloud sessions stable even when the home Wi-Fi or wired broadband connection fluctuates.
- Businesses in areas with unreliable wired broadband. Offices in locations where fiber optic broadband is unavailable or where ISP reliability is poor can use Speedify to bond multiple 4G/5G cellular connections for combined upload and download speeds and redundancy.
- Any office using persistent cloud sessions. Businesses running cloud-hosted ERP systems, CRMs, VoIP platforms, or remote desktop sessions need internet failover that doesn’t reset active sessions. Speedify’s packet-level failover meets this requirement where router-level failover does not.

Speedify Plans for Business Office Internet
Speedify Teams gives network administrators a centralized dashboard to manage internet failover and channel bonding across the entire organization. From the dashboard, admins can monitor which internet connections each device is using, set connection priorities and data limits, and add or remove team members as staff changes. Speedify Teams includes a 100% uptime SLA, with one day of free service credited for each hour of downtime.
For businesses that need dedicated bandwidth and a static IP address, Speedify Dedicated Servers are available as a managed add-on to any Speedify Teams plan. For businesses with data residency requirements, Speedify Self-Hosted Servers provide full infrastructure control.
The Speedify app runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and supported OpenWrt routers. For offices that want network-wide coverage from a single device, the Miri X510 bonding router powered by Speedify is the purpose-built hardware option.
