A business VPN wraps company traffic in encryption and routes it through a server. That protects data on any network, at the cost of some speed on a single internet connection.

A B2B (business-to-business) VPN usually means a site-to-site VPN: a permanent encrypted link between two offices’ or two companies’ networks, set up on their firewalls or routers, so systems on each side can reach each other.
