TikTok Slow on Starlink? See How Speedify Keeps TikTok Loading

Combine Starlink with Wi-Fi, 4G/5G Cellular or DSL in Speedify to Fix Slow TikTok on Starlink

TikTok works on Starlink, but videos can keep loading and uploads can get stuck when your Starlink internet connection slows down or has short drops. The usual causes are something blocking your Starlink dish’s view of the sky, a weak Wi-Fi signal where you hold your phone, and the moments when your Starlink dish switches satellites.

You can fix the first two yourself. The satellite switches happen on every Starlink dish: for those, use Starlink together with your phone’s 4G/5G cellular data or another internet connection, and Speedify keeps TikTok loading and uploading when Starlink dips.

Starlink Internet Connection Drops Happen to Everyone

Speedify measures thousands of Starlink users in more than 140 countries. In September 2026, fixed Starlink dishes went offline for about 38 minutes a day on average, and Starlink dishes on RVs and boats for about 46 minutes a day.

All Starlink dishes also see short dropouts roughly every 15 seconds as the Starlink internet connection switches from one moving satellite to the next. Even a perfectly installed Starlink dish goes offline, and about 7 in 10 Starlink users on Speedify use Starlink together with a second internet connection, like 4G/5G cellular.

Check Whether Starlink or the TikTok App Is Making TikTok Slow

Open the Starlink app first. If it shows your Starlink dish offline or obstructed, the problem is the Starlink dish or its view of the sky, and you can check your Starlink status to see what it’s doing right now. If the Starlink app shows Online, turn off Wi-Fi on your phone and scroll TikTok on cellular data for a minute. Fast on cellular means the slowdown is on the Starlink side: your Wi-Fi signal or the Starlink internet connection. Slow on cellular too means the problem is TikTok or your phone, so close and reopen TikTok and update it from the App Store or Google Play.

Fix Slow TikTok Videos and Stuck Uploads on Starlink

  • Clear what blocks your Starlink dish’s view of the sky. Even if nothing covers the Starlink dish itself, a tree or part of your roof off to the side can block the view as the satellites move overhead. The obstruction map in the Starlink app shows where.
  • Scroll closer to the Starlink router. Walls and floors weaken Wi-Fi quickly. If TikTok is fine next to the Starlink router and slow in another room, the problem is how far the Wi-Fi reaches, not Starlink.
  • Post from where the Wi-Fi signal is strongest. Uploads are the slow side of Starlink: Starlink says uploads run 10 to 30 Mbps, against 45 to 280 Mbps for downloads. Posting a long TikTok takes much longer than watching one, and a weak Wi-Fi signal on top of that is what leaves uploads stuck.
  • Know which drops you can’t fix. Your Starlink dish switches satellites about every 15 seconds, and each switch can cause a short drop. A drop at the wrong moment stops a video mid-scroll or stalls an upload, and no setting on your phone prevents it.

Keep TikTok Loading on Starlink by Adding Your Phone’s Cellular Data with Speedify

Once the Starlink dish has a clear view and your Wi-Fi signal is strong, what’s left are the short drops. The fix is a second internet connection used at the same time as Starlink. On a phone you already have one, your 4G/5G cellular data, and another Starlink dish or a DSL line works too, whatever you have.

Speedify is the only app that combines all of your internet connections to keep you online when it matters most. Speedify sends TikTok’s traffic over Starlink and cellular at the same time, even a single upload, so videos load from both and uploads get the upload speed of both. If Starlink drops, Speedify switches your traffic to the other internet connection automatically. Speedify needs that second internet connection: with Starlink alone, it can’t add speed or stop the drops.

Download Speedify on your iPhone or Android phone. Speedify uses your Starlink Wi-Fi and your cellular data together, with no extra hardware. To save cellular data, set cellular to Backup in the Speedify app: Speedify then uses it only when Starlink drops. Posting from a tablet with no cellular plan? With Speedify’s cellular sharing, put the tablet and your phone on the same Wi-Fi, install Speedify on both, and pair them in the Speedify app so the tablet can use your phone’s cellular data.
