What Using 2 Starlink Dishes on a Mac Actually Delivers

Two Starlink dishes at one location give you two separate internet connections, each with its own router and IP address. Your Mac’s built-in Wi-Fi connects to one network at a time, so without bonding software, you get no speed benefit from the second dish and no automatic failover if the first one drops.

Speedify solves this by managing both Starlink connections simultaneously. With both dishes active and connected to your Mac, Speedify distributes your traffic across both connections in real time. When both are performing well, you get the combined upload and download capacity of both dishes. When one drops, Speedify moves all traffic to the working dish at the packet level without breaking active calls or upload sessions.

Note: Two dishes on separate Starlink accounts draw from different satellite infrastructure pools and are less likely to experience simultaneous congestion or throttling than two dishes on the same account.

How Speedify Manages 2 Starlink Dishes on Mac

Speedify monitors both Starlink connections in real time, measuring latency, packet loss, and available bandwidth on each. When both dishes are healthy, Speedify uses both and delivers up to 95% of their combined upload and download capacity. When one connection degrades or loses signal, Speedify shifts all traffic to the healthy dish at the packet level. Sessions stay live throughout.

Speedify also encrypts all your internet traffic across both connections, keeping your data protected on every path.

How to Use 2 Starlink Dishes at Once on a Mac with Speedify

Step 1: Connect Your Mac to the First Starlink Dish

Using your Mac’s built-in Wi-Fi, connect to the first Starlink network via System Settings > Wi-Fi. Alternatively, connect via a USB-C to Ethernet adapter plugged into the first Starlink router.

Step 2: Connect Your Mac to the Second Starlink Dish

Connect to the second Starlink network using a USB Wi-Fi adapter (if your built-in Wi-Fi is in use) or a second USB-C to Ethernet adapter connected to the second Starlink router. Confirm both connections appear as active interfaces in System Settings > Network.

Step 3: Download and Run Speedify

Download Speedify and install it on your Mac. Speedify will detect both Starlink connections and begin bonding them immediately. No manual routing configuration is needed.

Speedify handles everything in the background from that point: combining both dishes for faster upload and download speeds, monitoring both paths, failing over instantly, and encrypting all traffic.

Who Should Use 2 Starlink Dishes on a Mac with Speedify

  • Remote workers on Mac at locations with two Starlink dishes deployed who want the combined upload and download capacity of both
  • Video editors, photographers, and content creators uploading large files from locations where a single Starlink dish is not delivering consistent speeds
  • Small offices running Macs with two Starlink connections for redundancy who want both used actively rather than one sitting as a manual backup
  • Live event teams broadcasting from Mac with two Starlink dishes at the site and needing combined upload bandwidth for simultaneous streams
  • IT managers overseeing Mac deployments at dual-Starlink locations who need software-based bonding and failover without additional network hardware

Speedify Also Monitors Both Starlink Dishes on Mac

Speedify displays real-time Starlink dish alerts for each connected dish in the app dashboard on your Mac. If either dish detects a stuck actuator motor, a non-vertical mast, or a thermal throttle condition, Speedify shows the alert immediately. Alerts appear when the condition has been active for at least 15 seconds and clear once resolved.

Speedify gives you a single dashboard to manage both Starlink connections and monitor both dishes from your Mac.
