Find Out Why Your Starlink Keeps Disconnecting
Open the Starlink app each time it drops, and check your Starlink status. If the Starlink app shows Offline or Obstructed, the problem is your Starlink dish or its view of the sky. If the Starlink app shows Online while your phone or laptop drops, the problem is your Wi-Fi.
- Clear what blocks your Starlink dish’s view of the sky. Even if nothing covers the Starlink dish itself, a tree or part of your roof off to the side can block the view as the satellites move overhead. The obstruction map in the Starlink app shows where.
- Your phone, laptop or TV has a weak Wi-Fi signal from the Starlink router. If your phone keeps disconnecting from Starlink, move closer to the Starlink router, or add a Starlink Mesh Wi-Fi router to cover the far rooms.
- Your Starlink dish switches satellites about every 15 seconds. Every Starlink dish gets short drops when it switches, and if a drop lasts long enough, video calls, games and streams cut out. Read why the 15-second drops happen.
- Your Starlink dish is old or faulty. If the drops started suddenly and the obstruction map in the Starlink app is clear, contact Starlink support through the Starlink app.

Stop Starlink Disconnecting by Using Starlink with a Second Internet Connection
