What a Live Stream Needs from a Starlink Internet Connection
Starlink uploads are usually 10 to 30 Mbps, and Twitch recommends 6 Mbps for 1080p video at 60 frames per second. So the average upload speed is rarely the problem. The problem is the short drops: your Starlink dish switches satellites about every 15 seconds, and obstructions and bad weather add more. On a live stream, each drop can show up as frozen frames or a disconnect. A second internet connection used at the same time covers those drops.
How Speedify Combines Starlink with Other Internet Connections Without a Transmitter
Speedify sends your internet traffic over every internet connection you have at the same time: Wi-Fi, 4G/5G cellular, Ethernet, Starlink and satellite. Speedify’s servers around the world put the pieces back together, so a single stream, call or file transfer gets nearly the full speed of all your internet connections combined. If one internet connection drops, Speedify moves your traffic to the others automatically, and Streaming mode puts calls and live streams first.
Speedify needs at least two internet connections to do this. With one Starlink dish and nothing else, it can’t add speed or stop drops.
